Logo for grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust that would be of interest to nonprofits in Cave Junction, OregonThe Oregon Cultural Trust awards grants up to $50,000 to Oregon nonprofits for arts, heritage, history, preservation, and humanities programs. These Cultural Development Grants provide support for cultural programs and projects that preserve and enhance Oregon’s diverse arts, heritage and humanities.

Applicants must have a 501c3 nonprofit status to apply. Grants must be matched at least 1:1 with cash or eligible in-kind support (for example, grant requests for $5,000 must be matched by at least $5,000 by the applicant organization for a minimum total project budget of $10,000).

Funding is intended to support significant cultural programs and projects through four categories. Organizations may only submit one application to one category a year:

  • Access: Make culture broadly available to Oregonians.
  • Preservation: Invest in Oregon’s cultural heritage by recovering, preserving, and sharing historic assets and achievements.
  • Creativity: Create and/or present cultural or scholarly work; Support the development of artists, cultural experts, or scholars who promote culture as a core part of vibrant communities.
  • Capacity: Strengthen cultural organizations to increase stability, improve sustainability, or measure/share cultural impacts.

Closing date: April 22, 2016

Grant size: Average  $5,000 to $35,000; the maximum request amount is $50,000
